Jewellery Care Guide
Your jewellery is crafted with care and deserves to be looked after so it can be enjoyed for years to come. Please follow these simple guidelines to help maintain its beauty and longevity.
General Jewellery Care
-
Cleaning Guide: Each order comes with a soft jewellery cloth. Use this regularly to gently wipe your jewellery after wear to keep it free from oils and fingerprints. For occasional deeper cleaning, you may use mild soapy water with a soft brush or cloth. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and dry immediately and thoroughly. Avoid dips, ultrasonic cleaners, or harsh solutions unless they are specifically designed for your jewellery.
-
If the cloth is misplaced, a microfibre cloth (like those for eyeglasses or phone screens) or a piece of soft cotton fabric (such as an old T-shirt or pillowcase) is a safe alternative.
-
Do not use silver or gold polishing cloths on non high-polished surfaces.
-
-
Avoid Contact with Chemicals: Remove jewellery before swimming, bathing, or using cleaning products. Perfumes, lotions, and hairspray can also dull or damage surfaces.
-
Temperature and Humidity: Protect jewellery from prolonged exposure to high humidity or extreme temperatures, as these may damage the materials or accelerate wear.
-
Storing Your Jewellery: Keep pieces in the provided jewellery box and zip bag, ideally stored separately to avoid scratches or tangling.
-
While Wearing: Remove jewellery before exercise, swimming, heavy lifting, or sleeping to minimise accidental knocks or pressure.

Gold Vermeil Jewellery Care
Gold vermeil is sterling silver plated with a thick layer of gold (at least 2.5 microns, and a minimum of 10ct). With proper care, it can maintain its beautiful appearance over time.
-
Cleaning Guide: Each order includes a soft jewellery cloth. Use this regularly to gently wipe your jewellery after wear to keep it free from oils and fingerprints. For occasional deeper cleaning, lightly dampen the cloth with mild soapy water, gently clean the piece, then rinse with clean water and dry thoroughly and immediately.
-
If the cloth is misplaced, a microfibre cloth (such as those for eyeglasses or phone screens) or a soft cotton fabric is also suitable.
-
Avoid towels, tissues, and gold or silver polishing cloths, as these can be too abrasive and may wear away the plating or alter the texture.
-
-
Avoid Contact with Chemicals: Moisture, perfume, and lotions can shorten the life of the gold layer. Always remove vermeil jewellery before showering, swimming, or applying skincare.
-
Temperature and Humidity: Protect jewellery from prolonged exposure to high humidity or extreme temperatures, as these may damage the materials or accelerate wear.
-
Storing Your Jewellery: Use the provided jewellery box and zip bag to protect your pieces. Store separately to prevent scratching against other items.
-
While Wearing: Take off your vermeil jewellery before exercising, swimming, lifting heavy objects, or sleeping to reduce the risk of wear and damage.
-
Handle with Care: Vermeil is more delicate than solid gold, avoid hard knocks or abrasions.
-
Refresh When Needed: As with all plated jewellery, vermeil may gradually fade with use over time. Re-plating can restore its original finish if desired.
Caring Tips for Jesmonite and Shell Composite Jewellery
-
General Care: Avoid cooking, cleaning, sleeping, showering, exercising, and applying lotions or perfumes while wearing your jewellery. Keep the piece away from water and harsh chemicals such as chlorine, which can damage both the protective coating on the Shell Jesmonite composite and the metal. Do not use ultrasonic or steam cleaners.
-
Cleaning Guide: To remove tarnish or fingerprints, gently wipe the piece with a soft, slightly damp cloth such as the one provided with your purchase. For stronger marks, use a small amount of mild soap on the cloth, avoiding direct contact with the composite inlay. Wipe again with clean water and dry thoroughly before storing or wearing again.
-
Handle with Care: Avoid dropping your jewellery onto hard surfaces as impact may weaken or break the piece or its inlay.
-
Storing Your Jewellery: Store pieces separately in an airtight bag within a soft-lined jewellery box to slow the natural tarnishing of the metal. Keep away from direct sunlight, excessive heat, and humid environments.
