蜜蝋引き目 "Mitsuro Hikime" wax
Craft your designs with the distinctive flow and texture of Mitsuro Hikime wax, a traditional Japanese wax blend known for its expressive linear texture and sculptural quality.
We offer two formulations to suit different working preferences:
-
Classic (Soft)
A classic, softer wax that’s more sensitive to heat and ideal for creating fluid, organic forms. It responds beautifully to body warmth, allowing for expressive shaping and movement.
-
Hard (Michael’s Special Recipe)
A firmer, custom-blended wax that holds its structure well and is ideal for creating crisp, defined Mitsuro Hikime lines.
Each artist has their own preference, and there’s no one-size-fits-all. If you’re new to Mitsuro or unsure which type suits your style, we recommend our Taster Pack (only available in 60g size), which includes both waxes so you can experiment and find your perfect match.

When your Mitsuro Hikime wax first arrives in bar form, it is firm and hard. To prepare it for working, gently soften the wax in a warm water bath. This helps warm the material evenly and gives you a smoother, more consistent starting point.
A simple way to refresh the wax is to gently remelt it using a wax seal melting spoon and a candle or spirit lamp. Avoid overheating the wax. Slow, controlled heat works best and helps preserve its working quality.
As you continue shaping the wax, it may become overworked, brittle, or prone to snapping. When this happens, gently warm it again in a warm water bath, or refresh it by remelting and allowing it to reset before continuing your design.
Please note that, over time, clean scrap wax may need to be remelted together with fresh wax to help maintain the consistency and working quality of the material.
Each piece is made to order. Please allow approximately 1-2 weeks for making prior to dispatch.
Please take care when warming or remelting Mitsuro Hikime wax. Always work in a well-ventilated area and use suitable heatproof tools, surfaces and containers. Warm the wax gently and avoid overheating, as hot wax can cause burns and may become unsafe if exposed to excessive or prolonged heat.
If using a candle, spirit lamp or other heat source, never leave it unattended and keep it away from flammable materials. Allow melted wax and tools to cool to a safe handling temperature before touching them directly.
This wax is intended for jewellery making and craft use only. Do not ingest. Keep away from children and pets, and store in a cool, dry place when not in use.
